Bangladesh National Election and Referendum on 12 February 2026

The schedule for the upcoming 13th National Election has been announced. According to the announcement, election campaigning will begin on January 22, 2026 (Thursday) and will end on February 10 at 7:00 AM.

Today (11 December), in an address to the nation, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) A M M Nasir Uddin announced the dates for election campaigning.

The CEC said, “The national election and the referendum will be held on February 12, 2026 (Thursday).”

On that day (12 February), continuous voting will take place from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. This year, the voting period has been extended by one hour.

The ballot paper for the 13th National Parliament Election will be black and white, while the referendum ballot paper will be pink.

For the first time in the country’s history, a national election and a referendum will be held on the same day.

According to the schedule, the last date for submitting nomination papers for the parliamentary election is December 29. Scrutiny of nominations will be held from December 30 to January 4. Appeals against the returning officer’s decisions can be filed on January 11, and appeals will be settled between January 12–18.

The last date for withdrawing candidacy is January 20. Election symbols will be allocated on January 21. Campaigning will begin on January 22 and end on February 10 at 7:30 AM. Voting in all 300 parliamentary constituencies will be held on February 12 across the country.

This year, the total number of voters is more than 127.6 million.

Expatriate Bangladeshis will also be able to vote through postal ballots. So far, more than 300,000 expatriate voters have registered to vote.

আগামী ত্রয়োদশ জাতীয় নির্বাচনের তফসিল ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে। ঘোষণা অনুসারে নির্বাচনী প্রচারণা ২০২৬ সালের ২২ জানুয়ারি (বৃহস্পতিবার) শুরু হবে এবং শেষ হবে ১০ ফেব্রুয়ারি সকাল ৭টা পর্যন্ত। 

আজ (১১ ডিসেম্বর) প্রধান নির্বাচন কমিশনার (সিইসি) এ এম এম নাসির উদ্দিন জাতির উদ্দেশে দেওয়া ভাষণে নির্বাচনের প্রচারণার তারিখ ঘোষণা করেন। 

সিইসি বলেন, ‘জাতীয় নির্বাচন ও গণভোট অনুষ্ঠিত হবে ২০২৬ সালের ১২ ফ্রেব্রুয়ারি (বৃহস্পতিবার)।

ওই দিন (১২ ফেব্রুয়ারি) সকাল সাড়ে ৭টা থেকে বিকেল সাড়ে ৪টা পর্যন্ত টানা ভোটগ্রহণ চলবে।’ এ বছরই ভোটপ্রদানের সময় এক ঘণ্টা বৃদ্ধি করা হয়েছে।

ত্রয়োদশ জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনের ব্যালট হবে সাদাকালো। আর গণভোটের ব্যালটের রং হবে গোলাপি।

দেশের ইতিহাসে এই প্রথম গণভোট ও জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচন একই দিনে অনুষ্ঠিত হতে যাচ্ছে।

তফসিল অনুযায়ী, সংসদ নির্বাচনে প্রার্থীদের মনোনয়পত্র জমা দেওয়ার শেষ সময় ২৯ ডিসেম্বর। মনোনয়নপত্র বাছাই ৩০ ডিসেম্বর থেকে ৪ জানুয়ারি। রিটার্নিং কর্মকর্তার সিদ্ধান্তের বিরুদ্ধে আপিল দায়ের ১১ জানুয়ারি এবং আপিল নিষ্পত্তি হবে ১২ থেকে ১৮ জানুয়ারি।

প্রার্থিতা প্রত্যাহারের শেষ সময় ২০ জানুয়ারি। প্রতীক বরাদ্দ করা হবে ২১ জানুয়ারি। নির্বাচনী প্রচার শুরু হবে ২২ জানুয়ারি, প্রচার শেষ হবে ১০ ফেব্রুয়ারি সকাল সাড়ে সাতটা পর্যন্ত। ১২ ফেব্রুয়ারি সারা দেশে ৩০০ সংসদীয় আসনে ভোটগ্রহণ করা হবে।

এবারের নির্বাচনে মোট ভোটার ১২ কোটিপ্রবাসী বাংলাদেশি ভোটারেরাও পোস্টাল ব্যলটে ভোট দেওয়ার সুযোগ পাচ্ছেন। এখন পর্যন্ত ৩ লাখের বেশি প্রবাসী ভোটার ভোট দেওয়ার জন্য নিবন্ধন করেছেন। ৭৬ লাখের বেশি।
