Recruitment notification for 10,219 assistant teacher positions, first phase in 6 divisions

After a long wait, the recruitment notification for 10,219 assistant teacher positions in government primary schools is being published today, Wednesday (6 November). This large-scale recruitment initiative in primary education is being seen as a milestone.
According to the Directorate of Primary Education (DPE), in the first phase, the recruitment notification will be published for vacant positions in Rajshahi, Rangpur, Sylhet, Khulna, Barishal, and Mymensingh divisions. Notifications for Dhaka and Chattogram divisions will be published in the second phase.
A senior official of the Directorate of Primary Education said that all preparations for publishing the notification have been completed. Tomorrow (today), the recruitment notification for 10,219 vacant posts will appear in national newspapers.
Earlier, on the night of 28 August this year, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education issued the “Government Primary School Teacher Recruitment Rules, 2025”. Three days later, on 31 August, an eight-member Central Primary School Teacher Recruitment Committee was formed, chaired by the Director General of the Directorate of Primary Education, with the Director of Policy & Operations serving as member secretary.
However, due to some errors in the rules, the notification was delayed. The errors were later corrected, and on 2 November, the Ministry published the revised “Government Primary School Teacher Recruitment Rules, 2025”.
Key changes in the new rules include:
The phrase “in other subjects” has been replaced with “at least in science and other subjects”, giving candidates in science subjects priority in direct recruitment.
For head teacher positions, 80% of appointments will be through promotion and 20% through direct recruitment.
For promotion, candidates must have at least 12 years of experience as an assistant teacher, completed basic training, and have confirmed employment status.
For direct recruitment, both head teacher and assistant teacher candidates must hold a second-class or equivalent CGPA bachelor’s or honors degree from a recognized university.
No third-class or equivalent results will be accepted at any stage of the teaching career.
The age limit for both positions is 32 years.
According to the Directorate of Primary Education, there are currently around 13,500 vacant assistant teacher positions across the country. After the issuance of the teacher recruitment rules, the notification was scheduled to be published in November.news24bd

দীর্ঘ অপেক্ষার পর অবশেষে সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ে সহকারী শিক্ষক পদে ১০ হাজার ২১৯ জন নিয়োগের বিজ্ঞপ্তি আজ বুধবার (৬ নভেম্বর) প্রকাশ করা হচ্ছে। প্রাথমিক শিক্ষায় বড় পরিসরে নতুন করে জনবল নিয়োগের এই উদ্যোগকে মাইলফলক হিসেবে দেখা হচ্ছে।
প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা অধিদপ্তর (ডিপিই) সূত্রে জানা গেছে, প্রথম ধাপে রাজশাহী, রংপুর, সিলেট, খুলনা, বরিশাল ও ময়মনসিংহ বিভাগে শূন্য পদে নিয়োগ বিজ্ঞপ্তি প্রকাশ করা হবে।
ঢাকা ও চট্টগ্রাম বিভাগের নিয়োগ বিজ্ঞপ্তি দ্বিতীয় ধাপে প্রকাশ করা হবে বলে জানিয়েছে অধিদপ্তর।
প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা অধিদপ্তরের এক ঊর্ধ্বতন কর্মকর্তা বলেন, বিজ্ঞপ্তি প্রকাশের সব প্রস্তুতি সম্পন্ন হয়েছে। আগামীকাল (আজ) জাতীয় পত্রিকাগুলোতে ১০ হাজার ২১৯ শূন্য পদের বিপরীতে নিয়োগ বিজ্ঞপ্তি প্রকাশ করা হবে।
এর আগে চলতি বছরের ২৮ আগস্ট রাতে প্রাথমিক ও গণশিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয় ‘সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয় শিক্ষক নিয়োগ বিধিমালা, ২০২৫’ জারি করে। তিন দিন পর, ৩১ আগস্ট, গঠিত হয় আট সদস্যের ‘কেন্দ্রীয় প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয় শিক্ষক নিয়োগ কমিটি’—যার চেয়ারম্যান প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা অধিদপ্তরের মহাপরিচালক এবং সদস্যসচিব অধিদপ্তরের (পলিসি ও অপারেশন) পরিচালক।

তবে বিধিমালায় কিছু ত্রুটি থাকার কারণে বিজ্ঞপ্তি প্রকাশ বিলম্বিত হয়। পরবর্তীতে ত্রুটি সংশোধন করে ২ নভেম্বর নতুনভাবে সংশোধিত ‘সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয় শিক্ষক নিয়োগ বিধিমালা, ২০২৫’ প্রকাশ করে প্রাথমিক ও গণশিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয়।
* নতুন বিধিমালায় ‘অন্যান্য বিষয়ে’ শব্দের পরিবর্তে ‘বিজ্ঞানসহ অন্যান্য বিষয়ে অন্যূন’ শব্দটি যুক্ত করা হয়েছে। ফলে এখন থেকে বিজ্ঞান বিষয়ের প্রার্থীরাও সরাসরি নিয়োগে অগ্রাধিকার পাবেন।
* এছাড়া প্রধান শিক্ষক পদে ৮০ শতাংশ পদোন্নতি ও ২০ শতাংশ সরাসরি নিয়োগের মাধ্যমে নিয়োগ দেওয়ার বিধান রাখা হয়েছে।
* পদোন্নতির জন্য প্রার্থীকে সহকারী শিক্ষক হিসেবে অন্তত ১২ বছরের চাকরির অভিজ্ঞতা, মৌলিক প্রশিক্ষণ ও চাকরি স্থায়ীকরণ সম্পন্ন করতে হবে।
* সরাসরি নিয়োগের ক্ষেত্রে প্রধান শিক্ষক ও সহকারী শিক্ষক—উভয় পদের প্রার্থীদের স্বীকৃত বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে দ্বিতীয় শ্রেণি বা সমমানের সিজিপিএসহ স্নাতক বা স্নাতক (সম্মান) ডিগ্রি থাকতে হবে।
* শিক্ষাজীবনের কোনো পর্যায়ে তৃতীয় বিভাগ বা সমমানের ফল গ্রহণযোগ্য হবে না।
* উভয় পদের জন্য বয়সসীমা নির্ধারণ করা হয়েছে ৩২ বছর।
উল্লেখ্য, প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা অধিদপ্তরের তথ্য অনুযায়ী, সারা দেশে প্রায় ১৩ হাজার ৫০০ সহকারী শিক্ষকের পদ শূন্য রয়েছে। শিক্ষক নিয়োগ বিধিমালা জারির পর নভেম্বরেই বিজ্ঞপ্তি প্রকাশের কথা ছিল।
